Casting
Casting is a manufacturing process in which molten raw material such as metal or plastic is poured into a mold of a desired shape, in which it solidifies and receives the shape of the mold cavity. When the material solidifies, remove it by removing or breaking the mold. Foundry materials are usually metals, glass, or materials that are formed by mixing two or more components together, such as concrete, plaster and kinds of plastic. The foundry process is often used to create complex shapes that are difficult to produce by other methods such as machining or sculpture.
Polymers that are in a non-hardened state are called resins. The casting of the material is carried out by machines while mixing the material together with a catalyst material that makes the material difficult.
After casting the material hardens and accepts the shape of its mold. The foundry process is an ancient process that has existed for over 6000 years. The oldest surviving foundry is a copper frog that was created in 3200 BC.
